Forever Palestine, by Dania Ahmet Nahar

Once upon a time, when most consciences have died, two young Palestinian girls, Grace and Dania, were obligated to live in exile. Each lived in a country far away from home, until they finally met each other through the internet. They both wanted to land to be free and back as it used to be.
One day, they decided to travel to Palestine together. Each one started her journey from the country of her residence and decided to meet the other in the airport in Palestine. They were delighted to finally meet and be in their own country. They were so happy that they started to visit places and know more about their home country right after arriving at the airport. And they didn’t go to their rented apartment until they couldn’t take another step!
On the second week of their stay in Palestine, at dawn, they heard a deafening noise, they felt the ground shaking beneath them and it was as if the apartment will fall apart. Grace and Dania immediately got out of the apartment, covering their heads with their bare hands as if they were protecting themselves from the falling roof. No doubt, that was the Israeli occupation, then. This was their first time to experience and be in such a terrifying situation. They saw building being destroyed, innocent people getting killed, children crying, and even trees being cut down. Such horrifying scenes for two young girls who have seen nothing similar but on T.V.
The last thing they saw before getting arrested and locked up in prison was an Israeli soldier holding a gun and pointing it at an innocent little child; they pushed that soldier away without thinking of the consequences..They tried with all their strength to fight back and stop the soldiers from arresting them, but in vain.
They both stayed in their prison cells for three days without food, clean water, or even enough air to breathe. It was miserable in there and they were hopeless. At midnight, and out of the blue, Dania heard a voice coming from the tiny window whispering, “Psst! Hey, you!” That voice made her cheer up and regain her strength to stand up on her feet. “Who is this?” She whispered back. “I’m Mohammad, my friends and I will get you out of here.” He replied. “How?!” She asked with a big exclamation mark above her head. “We managed to enter the prison without being noticed, it’s not secured enough. And now, we’ll try to break through the walls. Tell as many people as you can.” The man said. So, she did. Although the prison wasn’t secured enough as Mohammad said, it was a quite difficult mission to accomplish. But eventually, they were able to get everybody out.
By the time the last prisoner escaped, the Israeli guards realized that they were not doing their job correctly and their senses weren’t present. They noticed the prison break and tried to call as many soldiers and policemen as possible, but it turned out that there was a whole army of Palestinians hiding and waiting silently behind a hill for the perfect moment to attack. The Israelis were very shocked and they didn’t know what reaction they ought to take.
The Palestinians went running down the hill in massive numbers, they didn’t have enough weapons nor shields, but it was their anger and want for freedom that led them. They kept throwing their enemies with rocks and stones, they used much unsophisticated weapons, yet, this was not an excuse for remaining silent anymore. They stood together in unity fighting for their rights, their freedom and for their country. Grace and Dania were certainly in the first lines of this brave, united, noble army. Despite the fact that they were exhausted and feeling pain all over their bodies, they fought like the strongest army in the world. Fighting for hours, many people dying from both sides, more and more Israelis running away, and finally, Palestinians raising their flag with great pride! Palestine is at last FREE.

THE END. :D
